Wellcome

Thank you very much for visiting “Young Cancer Survivor and Caregiver Circle KUMANOMA”.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer soon after I became 31 years old. After that, breast cancer came back in the same side of the breast in 2013. At that time, I took genetic counseling and genetic test for BRCA and I was told that I have HBOC. There are tumors in my liver so I am living as a metastatic breast cancer patient dealing with my treatment, my work and hobby now.

I thought that I would live with cancer my entire life when I was told that I have HBOC.

I started thinking that I would like to do SOMETHNG that has a connection with cancer. However, I had no idea what I could do. I was looking for SOMETHING.

I took a peer support training course for cancer patients. Finally, I found what I want to do and started KUMANOM in 2015, first for Japanese people only. However, I have been wanting to welcome people who don’t speak Japanese and speak English, both cancer survivors and caregivers.

KUMANOMA is mainly held in Nagoya, Aichi, Japan.

When I first got diagnosed with breast cancer, there was no place to gather for young cancer survivors. I have been wanting to have a place like KUMANOMA for a long, long time so I finally have started it.

KUMANOMA for Japanese celebrated its 1st Anniversary in 2016.

I would like to start KUMANOMA for people who speak English.

Thank you very much for visiting KUMANOMA Web site.

Best Regards,
